Applying online is the best and most efficient way to begin the hiring process. Before you begin, gather all the documents you will need to complete your application. This may include work permits, a resume, work history, letters of recommendation, and transcripts. Follow the instructions provided for the specific job pool for which you have chosen to apply.
If your application is submitted successfully, and you meet the initial criteria for the position, you will be contacted for an interview. Interviews may be conducted in person or online. This will be your opportunity to tell us why you feel you would be the best candidate for the position and our opportunity to answer any questions you may have regarding the job position.
If selected, you will be contacted and informed of a comprehensive background check. The results of the background check may take several days to complete.
In addition to the background check, you will be contacted to schedule an appointment with one of our local agencies to perform a drug screening. The results of the drug screening may take several days.
Once you pass the background check and drug test, you will be asked to review and acknowledge the Employee Standards for employment. These guidelines serve as conditions of hire and continued employment with M-DCPS.
